Lehigh Valley MSBL/MABL Official Draft Rules
The Lehigh Valley MSBL/MABL Player Draft is held annually in Feb or March. Registered players will be notified via email. League teams take turns selecting players in reverse order of their win-loss records at the close of the previous regular season.
The Lehigh Valley MSBL Board of Directors govern which players are eligible for selection in the Draft. Basic eligibility criteria can be described as follows:
- Minimum 18 years of age (Copy of Photo ID Required)
- All draft attendees must sign a league waiver to be eligible to be drafted
- Legal Resident of the United States
- Not committed to an existing Lehigh Valley MSBL/MABL Roster for the current season
A team generally retains the right to sign existing players until the start of the next season.
A player who is drafted and does not sign with the Team that selected him may be drafted again at a future year's Draft, so long as the player is eligible for that year's Draft. A Team may not select a player again in a subsequent year, unless the player has consented to the re-selection..
This description is a general one, the League President and/or the Board of Directors themselves, not this summary, govern eligibility and will resolve all draft issues.
If a player is drafted at the official league draft and the player opts not to participate before first game of season is played, the drafting team will then be allowed to select a player from the league's official waiting list prior to first game. There will not be compensation to the drafting team if the player withdrawing happens to be a substantially high draft choice. The player who chose not to participate would then be ineligible for the current season. The player may re-enter the draft in the future.
