Hall of Fame
Dr Charlie Brooks (Pitchers Orioles)

MSBL selectes it's first Member of the Hall of Fame, May 29th, 2009

Dr. Charlie Brooks is a full time practicing physican who has dedicated a great portion of his life to the Lehigh Valley Men's Senior Baseball League.  He is a founding member of the league that was started in 1988 and he is a perfect example of the athlete forced to play one day a week due to his occupational and family committments.

He's served the league as a board member, competition director, division director, rules committee member and charity committee member. Charlie is entering 22nd consecutive season as the player/manager of the Pitchers Orioles.  As a player he has sustained a .304 career batting average and has represented the league at the World Series Tournament 4 times in the 30+ and the 40+ divisions.

As a manager he's calm under pressure and his record is 154-122, he's won 3 25+ American Division Championships and 4 25+ Regular Season Championships.  This season he's also entering the newly formed 45+ division as a member of the Washington Nationals where he has been reunited with many of the players he managed during the first 22 years of his career.

In addition to being a good player and manager he's also a great team mate and has been instrumental in the personal lives of many of his players by teaching and reinforcing the principles of goal setting and consistency which has helped them become winners on the diamond, winners in the work place and good family men.

There is no one more deserving to be inducted into the Lehigh Valley Men's Senior Baseball League Hall of Fame than my team mate, manager and good friend Charlie Brooks.

Respectfully submitted,

Jim Reagle (Pitchers Orioles)
